She gained valuable experience at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York City, providing individual outpatient psychotherapy to children and adolescents from diverse cultural backgrounds and with various psychiatric disorders and learning disabilities. At Mt. Sinai, she also conducted family therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and neuropsychological evaluations.

Prior to Mt. Sinai, Dr. Wolkenfeld worked at the New York City Children’s Center, where she provided individual, group, and family therapy for patients with severe psychiatric disorders in an inpatient setting.
